Tropical Storm Fay Brings Rain, No Damage

Area undamaged and open for business after Tropical Storm Fay passes.
Naples, Fla. (August 19, 2008) – Tropical storm Fay brought soggy conditions and no major damage to the Naples, Marco Island and Everglades area on Tuesday. Several area businesses and attractions will resume normal hours beginning Wednesday including the Collier County government offices, Big Cypress National Preserve and Naples Pier. Naples Zoo will reopen on Thursday after landscaping debris is cleared from all walkways.
Most hotels are open and have electrical power. A few that closed during the storm are reopening on Wednesday. Travelers with hotel reservations should contact their hotel directly for information. "Fay brought us rain but the area emerged undamaged and we are definitely open for business," said Jack Wert, executive director for the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB.
