A Walk on the beach
A Walk on the beach

There are few locations in this or any country that can match the romantic Florida getaway you’ll find on the Paradise Coast. Secluded snow-white, crystalline beaches provide the setting for awe-inspiring sunsets over the gentle Gulf of Mexico waters. Adventure and relaxation await around every turn in the form of nature excursions, exquisite cuisine, spas, sightseeing cruises and more. You’ll also find swoon-worthy savings with Paradise Priced Perfectly deals on world-class accommodations, dining, entertainment and more. And if you tell a friend about our lover’s paradise, you have an opportunity to win a free stay at Inn on Fifth in Naples.

Here are but a few of the romantic Florida getaway experiences you can look forward to as you plan your escape for Valentine’s Day or any time you need to reconnect.

Love, naturally.
It’s time to make that reconnection with the one you love and nature. Put them together, and you have the perfect love match.

Begin with the obvious – the famous Paradise Coast beaches. Whether your idea of the ideal beach is the one that’s just outside your hotel room door, is on a remote island only accessible by a short boat cruise, or one that is shaded by mangroves and is home to wildlife, you'll discover your very own stretch of white-sand paradise here, complete with a sunset that will take your breath away.

Of course there’s more to romance than a magical sunset. With the Everglades at our doorstep, you and the one you love can share a nature adventure to cherish forever. Maybe you’ll enjoy sharing a leisurely canoe or kayak adventure amidst unspoiled waterways that are as wild and mysterious as they were when first explored by Native Americans nearly half-a-millennium ago. For a faster-paced thrill-ride through the Everglades mangrove forests, take a spin on an airboat. If you prefer keeping your feet on dry land, there are numerous road trips and nature boardwalks that allow you to view rare birds in the wild. Whichever adventure you choose, it will be all the more precious to you because you shared it together.

If you're planning on including a weekend with your romantic Florida getaway, there are special adventures you'll love either the weekend before February 14 or the weekend after.

On February 11, you can take part in the Annual Everglades Paddle-In. This is a fun, family-oriented event that’s free of charge (although donations for a local charity are always appreciated). It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends who enjoy paddling the area, learn a bit of the colorful local history and experience a breathtaking part of Florida. The Paddle-In utilizes tidal currents to paddle from the Everglades to a beach site on Indian Key in Indian Key Pass.

The weekend that follows Valentine's Day (February 18-20) gives you the opportunity to take part in a very unique romantic Florida getaway the Annual President's Day Swamp Walks hosted by Clyde Butcher's Big Cypress Gallery. These unique guided walks put you knee-deep in the Everglades experience in the pristine cypress swamps of the Big Cypress National Preserve.

The taste of romance.
What is a romantic Florida getaway without intimate dining, a little bubbly, and – of course – chocolate?

From casual sunset dining on the beach to five-star cuisine, from tropical open-air bistros to authentic Irish pubs, from laid back grills to white tablecloths, you’ll enjoy a wide spectrum of dining experiences in Naples, Marcos Island and the Everglades.

For a romantic night out in downtown Naples, visit the recently opened Osetra Champagne & Caviar Bar on Fifth Avenue South. Themenu selections include salads, chilled shrimp, crab and lobster cocktails and platters, as well as steak, lobster and pasta.  The extensive caviar menu ranges from affordable to astronomical.  There is a lengthy list of champagnes, wines and beers by the glass. Osetra is a harmony of all the finest and rarest ingredients found from around the world set along charming Fifth Avenue South.

Also in Naples, the newly opened Barbatella brings you a taste of Italy – the most romantic food-loving country in the world. At Barbatella, you’ll enjoy a casual atmosphere along with pasta with typical ingredients from Emilia-Romagna, the Veneto, Tuscany, Puglia and the Adriatic shores. Or indulge in a signature pizza baked in their wood-burning oven with cheeses and garnishes that emphasize a fresh Italian take, along with over 100 wines by the glass.

Pampering in paradise.
Few things say “romantic Florida getaway” as sensually as “couples spa,” and on the Paradise Coast, more than a few spas are romantically offering special spa services for couples, including The Spa Hilton Marco Island, The Spa at Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, NaplesThe Spa on Fifth at The Inn on Fifth and Golden Door Spa at Waldorf Astoria Naples, the first Golden Door on the U.S. east coast.
